So you want to be a chocolate snob (part 2)
Previously we learned that there is a proper way to talk about chocolate, especially when dealing with lesser mortals who are not accustomed the complicated numerics of the chocolate world (what does that 70% on the wrapper mean??). Apparently, there are also proper places to consume chocolate and, presumably, practice that elitist chocolate talk which you have by now mastered. Cigar smokers have their cigar lounges and wine connaisseurs have their wine cellars, so why shouldn't chocolate afficionados have their own chocolate bars? That at least seems to be thought behind the recent rise of places dedicated entirely to the act of chocolate consumption (consumption in this sense referring to both the purchase and digestion of chocolate). Basel, Switzerland has Xocolatl, Brooklyn, New York has Jacques Torres aka Mr. Chocolate, and, in Chicago, Mars Inc., the maker of M&Ms, is opening a chain of Chocolate Lounges complete with personal Chocolate Consultants.
