Swiss Delice, Noir Authentique (78% cacao)

swiss_delice.gifSwiss Delice is a premium brand from the giant retailer, Migros, and features a range of delicacies such as chocolates, pralines, cremes, biscuits, and, for some inexplicable reason, potato specialties. We somehow managed to avoid the tempting Potato and Onions dish and kept our attentions on Suprême Noir Authentique, the brand's entry into the dark chocolate market.

Noir Authentique proved to be a decent dark chocolate, but nothing extraordinary. The taste is straight-forward and uncomplicated, with hardly any subtle flavors and no surprise tones at all. Despite 78% cacao solids, Noir Authentique manages to avoid the bitterness of many high cacao chocolates, while not overindulging the sweeter taste buds. Noir Authentique eschews experimentation and excess, which will surely appeal those who are not too sure about 70%+ chocolates, as well as connoisseurs who occassionally appreciate an uncomplicated and plain bar.
